Wait For The One Who Cares About How Your Day Is Going

Wait for the one who wants to know what your day is like, who texts you every few hours to know if anything else happened while he was away or if anything has troubled you because he wants to be the first one to comfort you.

For some people, it may seem like a normal question but for others, it’s all they want to hear.

They want to hear that someone out there cares about their day, they want to know that someone wants to know the smallest or most trivial details of their day. That someone out there wants to know what they’re doing because they want to be there, they want to be part of their lives. They want to be integrated with the side of their lives they don’t get to see and they want to let them know that they’re not alone.

Wait for the one who doesn’t make you feel alone because they’re constantly asking about you and your day. Wait for the one who won’t get tired of asking the same questions and listening to the same answers over and over again.

Because we all have moments in our day when we feel like no one cares about us, like no one is curios enough or interested enough to know what our work is like or how school is going, no one wants to know the little things that we go through each and every day and no one understands the small struggles we endure to make it through another day.

And sometimes, a question as simple as how’s your day going, can save someone’s day and possibly someone’s life.

Wait for the one who asks random questions because he knows that these questions mean a lot to you, he knows that you find depth in simple questions, it means he wants to know about the small things because it says a lot about you.

At the end of the day, it’s always the small things that reveal the big things and it’s always the small things that matter.

Because in this day and age it’s easy to say words like ‘I love you’ and ‘I miss you’ without actions to prove it, and it’s easy to say big words when you don’t mean them.

But it’s harder to ask someone about their day and about their life and it’s harder to listen and be there if they’re having a bad day or celebrate with them if they’re having a good one.

Wait for the one who shows you how much he loves before saying it, wait for the one who asks about your day because he wants to be in your life every day — not just for one night.

Wait for the one who cares about how your day is going because he only wants to make it betterThought Catalog Logo Mark
