How To Get The 5 Coolest Beauty Looks From Fashion Week

By

1. The nails at Degen.

The nails at Degen’s Spring/Summer 2015 show were certainly something to gawk at — a rainbow, marble, creamsicle swirl, as I like to call it. And for which manicurist Casey Herman used China Glaze Nail Laquer.

2. The eyebrows at Rodarte.

Rodarte definitely triumphed in the beauty department this year for their show; in a sense, they reminded us all how crucial the makeup artist is to the runway show and the collection being shown. Makeup artist James Kaliardos decked the models’ eyebrows out with clip-on rings to make them look like the type of bad-ass chicks who can pull off multiple eyebrow piercings. James kept the rest pretty natural; anything in addition to the eyebrows could’ve been overkill. He used a natural lip color, a sheer eyeshadow and a single coat of mascara on the upper lids to complete the look.

3. The fake tattoos at Tommy Hilfiger.

Pat McGrath is responsible for the hippie, festival-hopping makeup look at Tommy Hilfiger’s show this year. The delightful, star-shaped tattoos were used with stencils and drawn onto the girls’ faces and bodies. The theme of the show was The Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and so it makes sense that the inspiration behind the makeup look was apparently, “Girlfriends of musicians at the festival. But they weren’t just rolling around in mud; they were in the luxury tent.”

4. Monique Lhuillier’s glimmer.

Monique Lhuillier gave Val Garland, the makeup artist chosen for her Spring/Summer 2015 show this year, one instruction: to make the girls look like they were “gliding down the runway, as if walking on water.” Garland came up with the idea of “cracked stain glass around the eyes,” for which she took cellophane, chopped it up into tiny little pieces, and then placed it around the girls’ eyes. To top off the sprightly look, she used an apricot lipstick “loosely applied” with her fingers.

5. Honor’s eye makeup.

Honor commissioned makeup artist Polly Osmond this year, who sent girls down the runway with a bright blue, thick cat eye. The inspiration? “Debutantes fall in love with a George Harrison bad boy and they go on a ‘trip’ together.” She used vbeauté It Kit to prime the skin. And for the cat eye, Kevyn Aucoin The Eye Pencil Primatif in Defining Navy, after which she applied a light layer of Kevyn Aucoin The Loose Shimmer Shadow in Lapis. She then finished off with Kevyn Aucoin The Essential Mascara on both lids.
