The Surprising New Fashion Trend That You Can Go Out And Buy This Week

By

We’ve sort of exhausted the various boob-oriented ways one can look sexy. There’s the classic cleavage, the side-boob, the under-boob and, most recently, the bare-naked nipple. The cleavage has even gone south and been repackaged as “butt cleavage.”
All of which is to say that showing cleavage just isn’t what it used to be. It doesn’t have the same spellbinding effect it once did. Sofia Loren had her fun, but with the power of the cleavage dwindling, one wonders where we could possibly go from here? And the answer to that is garter belts. Garter belts attached to skirts.

As far as I know, there’s only one brand who has perfected the garter belt skirt, and they did so for their Spring/Summer 2015 collection. That brand is Ammerman Schlösberg, which is only on their fourth collection, but can already count Dover Street Market as one of their stockists. The theme for their SS’15 collection is 1950s voodoo ska farmhouse Christmas. So you can only imagine that the clothes accompanying this theme are nowhere near boring. Take a look at their garter belt skirts, which will be in stores in about six months:

But since not everyone can be as cool as Ammerman Schlösberg, I’ve found an alternative. Buy a garter belt and wear it over a skirt. If you need a guide, look to East-London-based designer Nasir Mazhar, who executed this look impeccably for his Spring/Summer 2015 collection:

Garter belts are hard to come by. But — as you’ll see below — even rarer are cheap garter belts. Read on for some more garter belt options you can actually buy:
