Here’s 7 Things That Prove Your Man Is Truly In Love With You

When I met the man in 1994 who would later become my husband, there was no denying we liked each other.

It was a mutual “like” that eventually morphed into “like” plus real love. Not that we necessarily told each other our feelings until later, when I claimed “Me And You” by Tony! Toni! Toné! as our couple song.

(If we were in our 20s these days, that song could very well be “Power Trip” by J. Cole (featuring Miguel), singing that infectious hook: “Would you believe me if I said I’m in love?”)

Anyway, plenty of signs eventually let me know there was a mutual attraction. So what are some common ways to tell if it’s time to look into dumpster rental to clean out your apartment or go wedding ring shopping and get ready to consolidate houses?

Here are a few signs to help you stop asking yourself, does he like me?

1. He says your name often.

Not only does the guy in question know your name, but also he likes to say it, and there’s something about the way he says it that you love.

Perhaps it’s because he uses a softer tone with your name that he uses with others.

2. He stares at you.

When you look up, you oftentimes catch him staring at you, and not just your body parts, but directly in your eyes as well.

3. He touches you.

If he finds ways to touch your leg, your shoulder, your back, or even give you tight, powerful hugs — especially if he’s not that way with everyone else — he might have a crush on you.

4. He imitates you.

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and many times that’s true.

If the guy you like starts spinning his smartphone around on the table after you’ve begun to do the same with yours, or you find him repeating words you’ve said, he’s doing a “mirroring” thing that might signal attraction.

5. He tells you.

Sometimes, you don’t have to decipher a bunch of body language signals or run to Google to uncover what all of the above signs mean.

There are times when a guy comes right out and tells you that he is fond of you, and not in a sisterly or motherly way.

6. He trusts and forgives you.

He might trust you with little things, like holding his keys or iPhone. Either way, it shows that he’s willing to let you into his life and give you little bits of himself.

If there ever is a small infraction or faux pas, and he doesn’t hold a grudge, but forgives you, his affection for you might overshadow other feelings.

7. He smiles at you and makes a commitment.

It’s commonly known that smiling at a person and staring deeply into their eyes can be a sign of affection and falling in love.

We tend to want to look at, and hang around, those specific people that make us feel good.

Once feelings of fondness deepen, if a guy really likes you, he will reach out to make some kind of commitment.

Whether that means he asks you to move in with him and buys a diamond engagement ring to solidify his feelings, men know how to make their true feelings known when it’s important to them. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
