The Dalai Lama Is Not Cool
Sure, the Dalai Lama is a being of infinite wisdom and compassion who is the living reincarnation of the Buddha. But does he get jokes? Hells no he doesn’t. Here he is being interviewed on the Australian “Today Show.” Anchor Karl Stefanovic starts telling the following joke to Mr. Lama — “So the Dalai Lama walks into a pizza shop…” he says. Cue a completely baffled reaction by the spiritual leader:
So, that didn’t go over that well. But c’mon, man! “Make me one with everything.” That’s a good one, right? Jeez, this guy is more like the Dalai LAME… a. …Amirite? …No?
Anyway, according to always-reliable YouTube comments, the Australian anchor left off the actual end of the joke. Take it away, YouTube comments:
the REST of the joke is,,,, after? handing the clerk a $20 bill against his $12.00 tab, the Dalai Lama says, change plea[s]e. the clerk replies,”" change must come from within”"
See, that was the whole problem here. The dude just didn’t tell the whole joke! There you go. Mystery solved.

If you’ve been looking for a chance to say something then this very well could be it.
I wish to God I’d had a list like this when I was 23.
Answer phones better than anyone else has answered phones before. Relay messages so brilliant, they bring people to tears. Turn the coffee run into the choreography of Swan Lake. Become best friends with every intern and every underling and every taxi driver you encounter.
I remember taking the pen and notebook from that woman outside the courtroom, flipping to a clean page in the book, and writing, JESSICA IS SAD in big, bold, uncoordinated letters. “My sister is going to be a good writer someday! Look at how nice her lines are!”
