A Letter To My Best Friend On The One Year Anniversary Of Her Death
I miss you. I wish that was enough to accurately describe how I feel, but it doesn’t, not even close.

This seems like a decent idea, a win-win; maybe it will even end up being better this way, we often rationalize. “We won’t have the pressure and issues that came along with dating, but we can still be in each other’s lives.” Nope.
Patience, compassion, believing are all the answer, and so is love.
When we disregard the artificial and open our hearts to all the good and beauty in this world, act with and on love, release what isn’t important, we find the universe giving us back that good and that love and people who will help us continue on that path.
If it is a bad, heartbreaking experience, then we need to accept what has happened, grieve if we must. Then, take that experience and learn from it.
For anyone out there that feels as though it has taken a long time (too long) to forgive, forget, and move on, you’re not alone.
Our second love reminds us of how strong we truly are, just how brave.
