Sometimes Life Gets A Bit Too Much And That’s Okay

“And at once I knew I was not magnificent.” — Bon Iver

It feels like everyone around me is making the most out of their life; getting and enjoying their jobs, falling in love, travelling more, achieving things, partying hard, just being young and alive.

And for once, have you ever felt like you’re just floating around wasting time? Have you ever felt like you’re so behind everyone and you can’t quite keep up?

Have you ever felt like there’s just nothing so special about you?

Don’t get me wrong, I still believe in the beauty of life and people and everything around me, around us. But sometimes when you’re all alone clouded with your own thoughts, you can’t help but think how we’re all just trying so hard to feel validated by one another.

And sometimes no matter how good or beautiful life can get, it’s just so hard to fit in when there’s seven other billion people around the world trying to do the same thing.

Sometimes no matter how many achievements or compliments you get, it’s just so hard to feel worthy when there’s seven other billion people trying to prove something.

And while it is true that we’re all fortunate to be alive at this very moment… and while it is true that we have so many things to be grateful for… and while it is true that the world has so much more to offer, we have so much more to offer, I have so much more to offer…

Sometimes there’s just days when the whole world seems to be conspiring against you when you’re only asking for a little help for once.

But that’s okay. Because truth is there’s no certainty in anything at all. Truth is we’re always going to be a little bit lost. Truth is no one has it all figured out.

So when the time comes where you feel like you’re just floating around wasting time. When the time comes where you feel like you’re behind everyone and you can’t quite keep up. When the time comes where you absolutely don’t feel special at all, always remember how you don’t have to be.

When you feel worthless, when you feel like you’ve lost your way, when it feels like something died inside of you, remember that things get better. And you have to be alive to see and feel it.

Life can get overwhelming at times. We all just want people to see the best of us so sometimes we cover things up to protect ourselves. You have to stay strong.
