Only Kiss Me If You Mean It

By

I don’t care if you’re the world’s biggest charmer. I don’t care if you are the best looking guy at the party that night. I don’t care if you are a sweet talker, with the sharp tongue and blinding smile.

But, please, only kiss me if you mean it.

Don’t kiss me just because you like the way my legs look in my little black dress. Don’t kiss me just because you bought me a drink and you think it’s what I want. Don’t kiss me just because you want to take me home with you.

Don’t just kiss me to get in my pants. Don’t just kiss me because you like to play games. And don’t just kiss me if you are fully aware that you won’t call me the next day.

Only kiss me if you want to get to know me. And no, I don’t mean get to know my lips and the way my hands could wrap around your naked body. I mean, kiss me if you want to get to know what makes me smile when there’s no reason to.

Kiss me if you want to know what makes me cry at the drop of a hat. Kiss me if you want to find out about why I write and how it keeps me sane. Kiss me if you want to not just hold my hand, but hold me through hard times. Kiss me, if you see something in me that you haven’t seen in a long time.

Kiss me, if you want to know who I am.

I don’t want your lips on mine if you are going to use them to seduce me. I don’t want your lips on mine if you only want one thing from me. I only want you to kiss me if you want to seduce me with your mind too. I only want your lips on mine, if you want me to seduce you too. With my mind. With my soul. Not just my body.

So, don’t think you can just kiss me and walk away. Don’t think it’s ok to kiss people and leave them the next day without a word.

Kiss me if you mean it. If you truly want to know what makes a girl like me kiss a guy like you. Kiss me if you want to know more about me, than just the taste of my cherry lips. Kiss me if you want to learn more. If you want to dive into my world.

Don’t you dare kiss me just to kiss me. Don’t you dare kiss me just to play a messed up game. I don’t want a game. I don’t want to be wanted. I want to be loved. I want to be known. And I want you to be the one to know me.
