10 Things To Do With Your Best Friend Before She Gets Married

By

1. Take a cooking class together.

Cooking classes are awesome because not only do you get to learn something new but you get to eat some seriously delicious food in the process. Find her favorite restaurant and see if they offer cooking classes or browse Groupon for an awesome deal. Maybe neither of you won’t become a master of cooking anytime soon but you’ll have fun in the process.

2. Have a photoshoot.

Grab your cameras, a few fun outfits, and head to some cool spots in your town. Take turns taking different types of pictures of each other and just have fun with it. If you’re really feeling silly see about getting some old-fashioned glamour shots done. The point is this a turning point in your best friend’s life and this is a great moment in time for you two to capture together. You’ll always be able to look back at these photos and think about what a special time it was.

3. Go on a trip you two have been wanting to go on for forever.

Whether it’s a couple of hours away or 2 time zones away now is the perfect time to finally take that vacation you guys have been talking about for years. It doesn’t even have to be some incredibly cool or exotic location. Maybe it’s just going on a roadtrip through your state and visiting a bunch of wacky off-road tourist attractions or hitting up the best taco joints within a 50-mile radius. When you’re with your favorite person does it really matter where you go? Pack your bags, grab some sunscreen, sunglasses, and a camera and make some memories you’ll remember for the rest of your lives.

4. Offer to help her declutter her life.

Ask her if she needs any help preparing before the big day. Maybe she needs to take some clothes to a consignment shop or perhaps she still hasn’t been able to find time to organize her closets. It doesn’t even have to be physical things she needs to declutter. What’s up with her social media? Does she still have a bad habit of checking in to see what her exes are up to or that girl you guys were friends with during junior year that ended up sucking but still exists on social media if for no other reason than to make you feel bad about life? Make some drinks, put on some music, and spend a night deleting these types of people from her (and your) virtual lives.

5. Book an afternoon at the spa with her mom.

Gang up with her mom and ask her how your best friend can have the afternoon of her freakin’ life. Head to the spa. Get manis and pedis. Relax and bliss the fuck out for hours. Make it a self-help day. Your bff will appreciate not only having time with you but having time with her mom too.

6. Have a slumber party.

She might be getting married but she’s not too old to have an old fashioned slumber party. Make a list of rom-coms, your favorite TV shows, whatever you guys are into and spend the night binge watching Netflix with face masks on while talking about anything and everything long into the night. Just like when you guys were younger you know these are the moments you’ll always remember.

7. Ask her how she’s feeling about everything.

Weddings can be a stressful time. Even if someone is absolutely excited to marry their fiance they can still be going through an intense emotional time. Go get coffee with her or have her over for a glass of wine and just be like, “Hey, are you alright? How are you feeling? No, like, how are you really feeling?” Sometimes just asking is all a best friend needs to feel at ease.

8. Take her on an epic friend date.

Make a list of all of her favorite things to do – places to eat and shop, neighborhoods she loves to explore, bookstores she can’t get enough of – and make a whole day of it. Show her that even though she’s getting ready to spend the rest of her life with someone you’ll always be there for her and no matter what you’re always going to remember all the different things she loves in life.

9. Get matching tattoos.

It doesn’t have to be anything big or crazy – just something you two can look at whenever you’re apart and have a simple reminder of your friendship.

10. Go back to your old favorite haunts.

Did you guys grow up in the same town or go off to college together? Head back to a place from your past and revisit all the hot spots you two used to love going to together. Take a walk through your old neighborhood, stop for coffee at that cafe that used to stay open 24 hours you guys practically lived at during finals week, head to your favorite spot in the city that has the best views. Talk about how much has happened since the last time you two were here and talk about how much farther you still want to go.
