I Hope That You’ll Never Settle For Anything Less Than The Way I Loved You

I loved you in a way that I had never felt before. The kind of love that makes your days a little brighter, your heart a little more full, and your mind a little more at ease. The kind of love that gives you butterflies on the drive to their house.

The kind of love that causes you to replay moments over in your mind that would have been so little and insignificant if they were spent with anyone else.

The kind of love that makes you exude positivity and restores your faith in all that is good in the world. The kind of love that can be seen by everyone around you. The kind of love that gives you strength to wake up each morning and take on the day. The kind of love that comforts you at the end of a long day that might otherwise bring you down. The kind of love that makes other past “loves” pale in comparison. The kind of love that is perfectly content to simply be in each other’s presence. The kind of love that is impossible to put into words.

The kind of love that you can see across the table in their eyes. The kind of love you’re proud to be in. The kind of love that makes you feel safe. The kind of love that makes you genuinely laugh. The kind of love that makes you want to be the best version of yourself. The kind of the love that makes you think about the future. The kind of love that you’d like to have forever.

As the summer came to an end and I moved away, I couldn’t help but wonder why I had been blessed with such an amazing love story just to have it ripped away from me.

I was bitter, broken-hearted, and lost in a mind full of “what ifs”. I still don’t have the answers, but wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, I truly hope that you’re happy. I hope that you look back on our summer with a smile. I hope that you carry with you all the moments of the simple joy of just being together- happiness in its purest form. I hope that you stay true to yourself. I hope that you always remember the unconditional love that I have for you.
