8 Bible Verses That Will Bring You The Hope You’ve Been Looking For

By

Sometimes there are days where we just need to read some good words, strong words. We need to be reminded that there is hope. On our darkest, coldest days there is hope to surround us.

We will always need words to carry us thorough, to inspire us along the way. Because sometimes life gets heavy and is difficult to keep treading upstream. Sometimes it’s hard to breath and we feel alone. But were never truly alone.

I’ve always found what I was looking for in scripture. It has always seemed to pull me through. To help me understand and channel my emotions in a positive manner.

If you’re having one of those days where you just need to hear Gods voice and be reminded of what He has promised you, here is a collection of scriptures I’ve found so much beauty and power in. I hope they lift your spirit and redeem your mind.

1. “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalms 46:10)

So often we are figuring out ways to get ahead. Preparing for what comes next. Rarely are we ever still. But just imagine if we were. God says for us to be still. To wait for Him. For us to surrender to Him because He is God. He is making a way for us. We must be patient and wait on Him.

2. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit” (Psalms 34:18)

Sometimes our hearts get torn and our life feels like it’s in shambles. We feel broken inside and lacking in many areas. We feel unrepairable. We feel unredeemable. We feel that there is no fixing us. But God says otherwise. God says that we may be broken and we may feel less than in that moment, but He will save us. He is the redeemer of the broken hearted. He can restore us and is always with us in our moments of defeat.

3. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9)

No matter where you are in your stage of life, what you’re going through, or what decisions you are trying to make. God is there with you. Wherever you go, He is there. He has gone before us. He wants you to be strong and courageous during the turmoil. Putting your faith in Him. Accepting that He knows what He is doing and that He will bring you though.

4. “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us” (Romans 8:18)

God says that it gets better. Hallelujah, praise The Lord, it does get better. There is so much hope in this verse. The pain you feel right now, it won’t last. The hurt and heartache you have, it will go away. The sufferings you are experiencing won’t be there forever. Soon enough God will reveal the good. Through it all, He is good and wants good things for us. He doesn’t want to see us in pain, but He wants us to lean on Him in those moments of desperation and praise Him for what He has planned for you.

5. “Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” (Matthew 6:27)

God has told us not to worry. That worrying changes nothing. Instead it hinders and doubts your faith and all that He stands for. For some of us worrying is second nature. It’s hard not to worry over the aspects of our lives. It’s hard to always trust something we can’t see. But God is right. Worrying only strips you from your life. It adds nothing. It gives you nothing, but robs you of the joy He wants to give us.

6. There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens” (Ecclesiastes 3)

Don’t rush your life. There is a season and a reason for everything. If your season feels dry and unending, soon enough He will bring you the sunshine you’ve been searching for. We must go through life with the armor He has given to us. We must be prepared for the good and bad times. He has reasons for all that He does. Trust Him to bring you through.

7. “I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you.” (2 Kings 20:5)

All the tears you cry in secret and prayers you so kindly pray, He hears them. He sees them too. God knows all that is on our hearts and He wants to help us. He can and will heal us. Continue to pray and cry out to Him. He is in those moments with you. Those moments of desperation. He will not leave you there feeling defeated and alone. He hears us and sees us and is always reaching out His hand to pull us up.

8. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

This is such a beautiful promise. God will never leave us. He will never forsake you. When the rest of the world turns their back on us, when everyone else leaves, He will still and always be there. God is a God that will continue to love us, provide for us, and show up for us. He is always cheering for us, not just from the sidelines either. Let Him be that stability in your life. Let Him be the one that loves you unconditionally and choose your regularly.
