She Is Dangerous But I Love Her

Her brilliantly red swirl of hair cuts through the trees like a wildfire.
Her heat blurs the periphery until all I see is her walking away.
Her copperhead markings threaten venom,
but her danger is her beauty.
There is no blending in for her—not in a crowd, nor in the boiling bustle of my brain.
She is a total firecracker and I totally love her.
I put up icy walls to hold her fire back.
I burned the ground to starve her flames,
but it only takes one wandering ember floating on the wind to char my heart.
How I miss those days when we would blaze together.
Keep burning bright my love.
