Last night USA won the women’s World Cup in soccer, which was pretty cool. I don’t follow sports as a general rule, but I have tons of pride in America, and I was really excited to hear about this happening right after the 4th of July to boot! Totally Awesome!

But then some Americans decided that a soccer match was an appropriate reason to bring up the death and destruction of World War II, including calling the match “payback” for the Japanese attack on America’s Pearl Harbor.
