Sometimes The Hardest Part Is Letting Go

By

I used to think it meant that I was weak if I didn’t hold on. We often feel that if we let go of something or someone, we are giving up.

Most of the time, the best thing for us is to be set free. To let go of that old sweater that you know you will never wear again, to let go of those old folders from college full of clutter, to let go of that person that we once loved, and might still love, but deep down know they aren’t right for us; at least not right now.

One of the hardest things to do in the world is to let go.

We’re used to holding on, it makes us feel strong, it’s comfortable, it’s what we know. How can we open ourselves up to new things, new experiences, new people, if we’re so stuck on the past?

Every time you’re scared, it means you’re challenging yourself in a way you may have never thought possible. It’s good to be scared, we can’t go through life living in our comfort zones. There is so much out there to love.

If it means picking up and either going on a vacation, or even moving to a new city or state, if a part of you is even a little bit curious, it might be just worth making that move. It could even be as simple as taking a yoga class, letting go of that stale breath, and inhaling all of the positive energy that surrounds you.

The present is the best gift of all, and it’s time we all start living it.
