Remember This When You Start To Doubt Yourself

By

Remember why you want this. Remember this is your life. Give up that fight where you need someone else’s approval as to whether you’re doing what’s right for you. ONLY YOU can decide that. Your life, your decisions, your happiness.

I applaud you – for doing something you think is worth your time. I am proud of you for taking a step you always seemed afraid of. I am so amazed by the courage it took for you to finally be responsible for what’s going to make you happy and what’s going to make you sad.

It is, isn’t it?

It gets even more difficult when people who matter to you seem to think they get to have an opinion as to whether you’re doing it right or not. Because it only gets you thinking “Why am I doing this, anyway? I’m probably not going to get anything out of this. I’m probably never going to be good enough.’’

Know this: You’re not alone.

We have all been there. We all have self-doubts and fears. Maybe it’s the reason why others think it’s their job to remind you how disappointing it could be when you don’t get to where you want to go. But maybe they’re also the ones who have given up the fight because they let their doubting selves to get the better of them. Don’t let it happen to you.

Sure, there’s no guarantee that you’re actually going to get what you want. But isn’t it enough that you try, and that you try the hardest? Isn’t there always seem to be an undeniable sense of self-fulfillment when you do what you do for yourself and not for anyone else or anything else for that matter?

This is what fighting means. It’s going after the things in life even when there’s no certainty. There will be hurdles. It sometimes feels like the world doesn’t even want you to get there. But believe that hard work pays off one way or another. Even if you don’t win the game, you still win in life.

If it’s time to stop, you will know. But until that moment you can’t give up. If the thought of learning more about yourself thrills you, then by all means: keep on trying.

Nobody ever truly knows what’s in store for any of us. So if you start doubting yourself just because everybody else does, remember that success is relative. Understand too that your definition of success must include your own happiness. So keep doing the things that make you happy. Focus on you. In the end, it’s you who matters in your story.

So keep going.

Keep on taking the steps, and never underestimate the power of believing in one’s self.
