Stop Taking Advantage Of Her Because She Really Isn’t Asking For Much

God & Man
God & Man

She isn’t asking for anything extreme. She isn’t expecting you to push aside your friends or your career to make room for her. She isn’t trying to turn your entire life upside down.

All she wants is a little attention. A bit of affection.

You know what would make her smile? If you sent her a selfie from work. If you told her that you heard a song on the radio that reminded you of her. If you made it clear that you think about her during random points of the day.

Telling her that you saw a pocketbook in a shop window that you know she’d love is just as sweet as buying it for her. Because it’s the thought that counts. It’s the fact that she was on your mind. That she actually matters to you.

You see, she isn’t asking for the world. She’s only asking for you to put in a little work.

Stop acting like girls are so complicated. Stop acting like she’s crazy for getting upset when you wait days to answer her texts or go out on a date with another girl because you’re not technically official yet. Stop acting like she’s asking for too much.

The truth is, she’s barely asking for anything. Yes, she wants a man that can hold a conversation. Yes, she wants a man that keeps his promises. Yes, she wants a man that likes her and only her.

But those things shouldn’t be considered high standards. They should be considered the basics. Every relationship should contain them.

Nowadays, it’s considered brave (and maybe even psycho) to hold out for someone that takes you out on romantic dates and texts first and showers you with love. How fucked up is that? That’s sending the wrong message. A dangerous one.

Everyone deserves a partner that would move worlds to make them happy. And if you can’t find that, you better stay single. Because it’s better to be alone than trapped in a toxic relationship.

That’s why she’s not going to settle anymore. She’s not going to beg you to be her boyfriend. Because she knows she isn’t asking for something unreasonable, unobtainable.

Really, all she’s asking is to be treated with respect. To be treated like a human being instead of a piece of meat that you chew up and spit out when you’re drunk or horny or lonely.

She wants someone that understands what a relationship entails — trust and honesty and loyalty. Someone that will put in actual effort to keep their connection strong instead of trying to slide through the months and leaving the first time they feel slightly uncomfortable.

She’s not asking for anything crazy. She’s only asking for a decent man. She’s only asking for an authentic love. Thought Catalog Logo Mark
