29 Creepy Ass Phone Call Stories That Will Make You Toss And Turn Tonight

13. I heard my mother make a call she claims never actually occurred

I was home alone sick from school, and I went downstairs to cook some ramen noodles and I got a phone call from my mom saying she was coming home right away and she immediately hung up. I called her back and asked her what she meant and she was so confused, and she said she didn’t ever call me. Then while cooking my ramen noodles I heard knocking on my sliding glass door and I could see that there was a guy looking through the blinds covering the sliding door. The way my kitchen is setup is a long hall way type of thing, if you are in the kitchen you can see the dining room and right next to the dining room is the sliding glass door. It was pretty scary and I didn’t know what to do so I ran upstairs and told my mom to get home right then.

14. I had a human-like conversation with a computer

A few months ago I got a phone call from a telemarketer, asking me some bullshit about how would I like a free home security system or something. I’m in the habit of humoring them, I didn’t have anything better to do at the time, so I played along for a little while answering the nice lady’s questions. She seemed friendly and I probably stayed on the line longer because I remember she even sounded kinda cute. After a couple of minutes she responded kind of strangely to something I said. Like she didn’t answer the question and I began to wonder if she had heard me correctly. Something about the cadence of her voice didn’t fit the situation. Then I suddenly realized and my heart sank and I got a little bit creeped out. I said “Are you a computer?” She laughed and said “No, hahaha, I’m not a computer.” I said “For real though I’m getting creeped out here are you a computer or a real person?” She said “Why do you think I’m a computer?” I said “If you’re a real person say the word Butterfly.” “Why do you want me to say THAT word?” “Just say butterfly.” She said “I’m not a computer.” “But you can’t say the word butterfly?” Then she hung up. I’ve never been so creeped out in my life and people think I’m insane when I tell them that super intelligent AI computers are calling my cell phone.

15. A number that didn’t exist kept calling me

For me it wasn’t just one call, it was multiple. Until about a year or two ago I still had an old slider phone. One day I got a random call asking for some girl named Sarah, I told them they had the wrong number and they intermediately hung up. For the next few months I would get these calls asking for Sarah about once or twice a week, sometimes these calls came at 3 in the morning. One day I got a call and like usual I said I didn’t know Sarah, and after they hung up I went to my contacts and hit redial, after I did the machine took over and said that number did not exist. I went back through my call history trying to call some other people that had called me with the same result, a machine telling me the number did not exist. I googled the numbers, but all I learned is they were coming from North Dakota. I started wondering what was going on so the next time I got a call asking for Sarah I said, “Oh yeah, she is right here” and the other person on the other end said, “No she isn’t” and hung up.
