Outgrowing certain people and activities can be one of the most bittersweet signs of personal growth.

I’m sorry that I can’t say it to your face, but I had to write it somehow.

Desiring human connection is totally normal.

Do you want to text him because you actually want to talk to him? You saw something that reminded you of him? You miss him? You want to see how he’s doing? Or are you texting him because you’re questioning how you feel and you want him to somehow reaffirm something?

I let myself think about all of the things that come to mind when people who know our story ask me what the hell I saw in you anyway. And I do remember what I saw in you. I do. 

If you are lucky enough to be loved by an old soul, know that you have stumbled upon a true rarity in this swiping, double tapping, made-to-go world.

Good times, hard times, mundane times — they are all a gift.

Successful people know that rejection is not a detour, a setback, or a failure.
