5 Quotes That Will Inspire You To Travel And Live Life Fully

There are some things in life that are so important to remember, and yet it’s surprising how easily we lose sight of them. In the words of some great people, here are 5 quotes that will inspire you to travel and live life to the fullest.

‘Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground.’ -Theodore Roosevelt

I love this quote because I think it’s a great reminder that we should always aspire to be more — whether that’s trying something new, tackling a daunting challenge, or pursuing our greatest passions.

We need to push ourselves beyond our self-imposed limits and step outside our comfort zone to work towards our dreams. At the same time, it’s equally important to stay grounded and make our dreams become reality in actionable ways. We need to understand ourselves and remain true to who we are in the process.

‘As you walk and eat and travel, be where you are. Otherwise you will miss most of your life.’ -Gautama Buddha

This is such an important thought to to keep in mind. In today’s fast-paced world, so many us are rushing through our days, trying to get everything done and we forget to enjoy the process. We shouldn’t do things simply as a means to an end, but rather, we need to remember to enjoy the moments along the way.

‘The journey not the arrival matters.’ -T.S. Eliot

Traveling involves more than simply hitting up places X, Y, and Z as soon as possible. It is about the journey, the good laughs you have and the adventures that can happen along the way. There was this one time I was on a road trip and we were driving along the winding coastal roads of The Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, Canada.

We were surrounded by dramatic views of highland scenery and the breath-taking splendour of ocean vistas. Plus there was a delicious blend of Celtic and Acadian history, culture, and food. Yet, the most memorable moment of that trip was this funny little thing that happened in the car on the first night.

It was getting late and we had no idea where we were going. We ended up driving up to a dead end and had to turn around, closely followed by other cars to had followed us to this dead end. It won’t be funny without the context, but one of us said something about this observation and all five of us burst into uncontrollable laughter for the longest time. It was such a good night.

‘Enjoy the little things in life because one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.’ -Kurt Vonnegut

This has been one of my favorite quotes ever since I stumbled across it a few years back. So many of us often overlooked the simple moments in life, like a nice family dinner or a really good read. Life shouldn’t be about looking forward to the next holiday or next big trip, but enjoying the simple everyday moments.

The little things may be that time you giggled endlessly with a friend, the original reason now long forgotten. It may the warm feeling you get after helping out a stranger. Or perhaps something as simple as waking up to a few rays of sunlight peeking through your curtains and the faint sounds of birds chirping. Life is made up of a bunch of small moments and we should remember to intentionally soak them in.

‘Adventure is worthwhile in itself.’ -Amelia Earhart

Thinking of taking the big leap but wondering if you should? Everything in life worth doing involves some form of risk or challenge. I’m sure you’ve all heard the saying about how we’ll regret the things we don’t do more than the ones we do. I don’t think this could be any more true. Sure, you might make a few mistakes and have some misadventures along the way, but in the end is the experience worth it? I think adventure is definitely worthwhile.
