DJ Daniel Kim has debuted the third installment in his Pop Danthology series, which mixes together 50+ pop songs and their corresponding music videos. Posted Sunday on YouTube, it’s already approaching 3 million views.
My favorite moment, I think, is a mix of Katy Perry’s “Part of Me” into a blend of Ne-Yo “Let me Love You” and Demi Lovato’s “Give Your Heart A Break.” Pretty emotive stuff, guys.
This video is a nice reminder of the mood-altering effect of pop and dance music, no matter how lyrically banal or mindlessly catchy. It was also a reminder that I don’t really like “Gangnam Style.”
