‘Facebook Killer’ Steve Stephens Was Just Found Dead In His Car By Apparent Suicide

The now-infamous “Facebook killer” was found shot dead in his car in Erie, Pennsylvania in an apparent suicide.

Steve Stephens made a name for himself on Easter Sunday after uploading a video of himself shooting and killing 74-year-old Robert Godwin on Facebook live. He also posted a series of other videos talking about how he had “snapped,” how he had already killed 13 people, and how he was planning to kill more.

Authorities had warned several states to be on alert for the murderer-at-large, including Pennsylvania, New York and Indiana, though they claimed he could be anywhere.

However, Pennsylvania State Police tweeted Tuesday morning that Steve Stephens had been spotted in Erie County, about 100 miles away from where he had killed Godwin in Ohio. After a brief pursuit, Stephens killed himself using his own gun.

Before his death, Stephens had been added to the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List as the manhunt extended nationwide. However, there is still no evidence to his claim that he killed 13 people besides Godwin.
