10 Reasons ‘Ghost Adventures’ Is the Only Paranormal Show Worth Watching

By

Ghost hunting shows get a pretty bad rep and it’s totally understandable if they aren’t your thing, but hear me out. Ghost Adventures is single handedly the BEST and ONLY ghost hunting show you will ever need to see. In a world where we are constantly looking for an “escape from reality” or some “easy” show to watch to get our minds off things, Ghost Adventures is there. Laugh if you want but watch a few episodes and then judge for yourself. You might just get hooked.

1. Whether you believe in ghosts or not this show WILL appeal to you

If you don’t believe in ghosts, it’s a show about a group of 40-somethings guys scaring the crap out of themselves with high tech equipment. If you do believe in ghosts, it’s a show about a group of 40-somethings guys antagonizing Satan and the powers of Hell. Either way, you can’t really go wrong.

2. Everything is EXTREMELY dramatic

English teachers always talk about the importance of word choice when trying to get a point across. On Ghost Adventures, they take word choice to the next level. Some people would call it a river, but Zak Bagans, lead investigator of the Ghost Adventures Crew, refers to it as “a flowing artery of evil blood”.

3. Who doesn’t love a good bromance?

Some members of the crew come and go, but Zak Bagans and Aaron Goodwin remain constant. Their friendship is one of the most consistent on the show and honestly, it’s refreshing to see such a genuine relationship. They don’t say “I love you”, but they do say “Aaron, stay here in the basement alone and get attacked by a ghost” and aren’t those close enough?

4. Sometimes there’s a dog

So one day, these guys are just out hunting ghosts per usual, you know? And they come across a little, stray dog. Well, a crew member adopts her and she ends up sort of like the mascot to the show. If nothing else so far has persuaded you to watch the show, keep Gracie in mind.

5. It can actually be SUPER terrifying

Each of the guys has been possessed at one time or another and some of the evidence they capture is just downright creepy. If you’re here for a thrill, Ghost Adventures won’t disappoint on that front either.

6. Occasionally, they attempt to SEDUCE the spirits

It may be a little alarming but on more than one occasion, Zak has attempted to seduce a ghost. He has tried everything from serenading them to writing them poetry. I wish I was joking. However, it makes for a fantastic hour of comedy.

7. The ghosts can get a little SASSY, but you would too if you were dead, right?

Every couple episodes, the guys will collect evidence of a spirit saying something hilarious or uncalled for. Whether it be swearing or an extremely sarcastic answer, it’s enough to give anyone a giggle.

8. “Science, bro”

The crew believes that they’re all “scientists”. That’s not exactly what I would call them, but they do manage to back up some of their claims with science. If you’re into that stuff, you’re probably already watching the show and if you aren’t, it’s hilarious to watch them talk about “bringing the investigation to the maximum scientific level”.

9. Zak Bagans

He isn’t just the lead investigator of the crew or the producer; he’s a television personality. There is no way this show would have lasted more than a season without his loud, dramatic, overemphasized personality. He is one of the sole sources of comedy on the show but seriously, just watch him talk about ghosts once and you’ll see what I mean. He’s a real gem.

10. It makes for an excellent drinking game

If I haven’t managed to convince you to watch it by now, this is my last ditch effort. Try watching one episode following the rules below. If you make it through the full hour, you definitely deserve some type of award.
