10 Albums For Depressed People

9. Bright Eyes, Letting Off the Happiness (1998)

Featuring what are mostly juvenile rants on existential crises, drinking problems, struggles with individualism, suicide, and the despair that comes from the realization that nothing is sacred and that the world/ universe doesn’t need you – or anyone – in the slightest, Bright Eyes’ second album, Letting off the Happiness is one of the most seriously depressing albums featured in this piece. The album’s first track, “If Winter Ends,” is featured here.
