Samuel Yates

Bio

Samuel Yates is a Mitchell Scholar and postgrad at Trinity College Dublin, where he is reading for his M.Phil in Theatre and Performance Studies. His dissertation is on the use of documentary theatre to create a performative ethnography of minority groups onstage, particularly looking at the representation of femininity and LGTBQ individuals in modern Ireland. He has served as an dramaturg, playwright, director, and actor for over thirty professional and university theatre productions, including work with the Abbey Theatre, The Eugene O’Neill Theatre Centre, The Samuel Beckett Centre, and New Harmony Theatre, to name a few.
