Nick Hess

Bio

Nick Hess is a Mountaineer by birth and a resident of Morgantown, WV. He was was raised between divorced parents, mainly with his single mother, sometimes with his HIV/AIDS infected father--these things influenced his life like nothing else, so they need to be said. His family never had much money. Having begun writing at an early age, he discovered poetry in high school and has committed himself to the act of wordly creation ever since. A former student of philosophy at West Virginia University, Nick ships out for Navy basic training in April (as of now) and hopes to finish undergrad while enlisted. He continues to study philosophy, linguistics, science, and religion while bouncing between jobs. He is still very poor. He appreciates the occasional charity--one day he will give it back a million-fold.
