I Hope You Find The Someone You’ve Been Looking For

I sincerely hope you find someone suitable for you. Someone who knows that your favorite kind of coffee is Caffè Mocha. Someone who knows you don’t eat noodles because it’s not good for your stomach. Someone who knows how you like your popcorn to be mixed—half caramel ones at the bottom, and half salty ones on top of it.

Someone who truly gets you, someone who doesn’t try to fit you into her mold.

Someone who knows to avoid crowded places because you don’t feel comfortable being surrounded by a sea of people. Someone who lets you be, someone who understands your need of a lot of space and respects your boundaries. Someone who understands that you’re the human equivalent of a cat—you don’t let other people dictate you, you live your life on your own terms.

Someone who leaves you alone so you can swim in your thoughts and recharge. Someone who doesn’t demand more than what you’re willing to give—be it your time, your affection, or your certainty. Someone who is patient enough to let you come around. Someone who appreciates your silence as much as your chattiness when you bitch about shit at work or something you’re passionate about. Someone who listens to you when you just need to vent your frustrations.

Someone who knows that at the end of a long, stressful day, all you need is a large cup of frozen yogurt with nothing but three servings of cookie dough sauce. And a nice back rub, or gentle strokes on your skin.

Someone who knows your love for basketball; someone who wakes up at 4 in the morning just to watch the play-offs with you. Someone who roots for Houston Rockets even though they keep losing. Someone who knows your favorite color is crimson.

Someone who appreciates the little things, because it’s what matters, after all.

Someone who sees the beauty in the details. Someone who doesn’t demand grand gestures, someone who rejoices over the thoughtful treats and surprises you give, especially when she’s in a particularly bad mood, that show she’s on your mind.

Someone who gets along with your family.

Someone who inspires you to be a better believer, someone who prays for and with you.

Someone who shares the same sense of humor with you. Someone who enjoys watching Seinfeld, someone who appreciates Clarence The Annoying Blue Puppet’s jokes. Someone who sings along and breaks into a goofy dance with you whenever 90’s hip-hop music are being played.

Someone who understands that though it might seem you’re aloof, doesn’t mean you don’t pay attention, that even though sometimes you can be forgetful, doesn’t mean you don’t care.

Someone who understands that even though you might not really express your feelings, your actions speak volumes.

Someone whose shit you’ll be willing to put up with, someone whose flaws you’d be willing to look past. Someone who makes your heart explode with selfless love, something you never thought was possible.

I hope you find someone you’ve been looking for all your life soon.

Wherever you are, know that I love you more than you will ever know, and I will always be there when you need a friend.

Yours truly,
The girl who loves to annoy the hell out of you, but isn’t the one that’s right for you.
