When Lesbian Jokes Go Wrong
Monica Crowley, Fox News anchor and absolute worst thing about McLaughlin Group, made a homophobic funny on Twitter today! Remember Sandra Fluke, the Georgetown law student who testified in front of the House Democrats earlier this year in favor of mandating coverage for contraceptives and was relentlessly called a slut by Rush Limbaugh afterward because, as everyone knows, birth control is for whorez only? Anyway, Ms. Fluke is engaged now! Which, sigh of relief here, means no more slutting around — but more than that. It also means that Monica Crowley, who has apparently had a weird, nonsensical lesbian joke saved up for this very occasion, finally got to use it to sully Fluke’s big announcement because ???

When the internet called Crowley out for being homophobic, she was all, “You guys have no sense of humor!” followed by, “Who’s joking? Serious question here, no one has answered it!” I’m not really sure why anyone would assume that the straight woman who testified in favor of birth control would be marrying another woman… oh, wait. I get it! Sandra Fluke has short hair and wore a suit in court — a pants suit, no less — and we all know what that means. It means Crowley watched an episode of Ellen once fifteen years ago and well, you know what they say about first impressions.
Anyway, in honor of Crowley’s HIGHlarious joke (meaning you’d have to be high for it to make sense) and subsequent accusations that the left has no sense of humor, the Twitter hashtag #CrowleyJokes has taken off, and man is it lesbians!
