TV Couples That Prove Love Is Real

1. Seth and Summer – The OC

These two had a rocky start but who doesn’t love a happy ending to a high school crush? Hardly any of us get one. Seth and Summer were meant to be a joke and then, quickly grew into the bedrock of the show. In the end, they get married. Because they were destiny.

2. Roseanne and Dan Conner – Roseanne

Marital bliss ain’t always pretty but Roseanne and Dan loved each other and their rambunctious, crazy kids. This domestic goddess met her match in Dan, even if she couldn’t stop hitting him over the head with frying pans.

3. Joey and Pacey – Dawson’s Creek

The series started out pushing Dawson and Joey but no one wanted that. It soon became apparent that uptight Joey was meant for slacker Pacey. Their first kiss was even called “The Billion Dollar Kiss” by execs because it saved the show (and made everyone believe in love again).

4. Pam and Jim – The Office

Content with their small life in Scranton, Pam and Jim have come a long way. Now they have two children. Who could have predicted all that from shy glances across the receptionist’s desk? These two went through a lot to be together and they don’t take that for granted.

5. Brian and Justin – Queer As Folk

Dubious beginnings aside, Brian and Justin are riveting to watch. The look of love on Justin’s face is sometimes even too much; he adores Brian. And Brian is willing to change and sacrifice for Justin.

6. Desmond and Penny – Lost

Forget all that Jack/Kate/Sawyer/Juliet BS and love on some beautiful Penny and Desmond. Their episode “The Constant” is one of the most amazing hours of TV ever produced. It’s like a movie. Even if you didn’t watch Lost, get your hands on “The Constant” and just watch that. It’s brilliant.

7. Amy and Rory – Doctor Who

Last episode, these two proved their undying love for each other, but spoilers aside, throughout the series, Amy and Rory have been by each other’s sides — sometimes even for 2,000 years. True love waits. Sometimes for thousands of years in a Roman Centurion outfit.

8. Max and Liz – Roswell

Max and Liz were the heart and soul of Roswell and a fan favorite. Max, an alien, fell in love with human Liz when he was eight years old. Their connection is so deep, she can literally feel what he feels. They’re soulmates, across time and space.

9. Emily and Naomi – Skins

Oh, teenage lesbians. So much drama! Fights, family acceptance, cheating, lyings — the works! But eventually Naomi and Emily get it together and realize they’re meant to be.

10. Eric and Tami – Friday Night Lights

Everyone LOVES Eric and Tami from Friday Night Lights because they show marriage done right. They’re a long-term couple that, while having their fair share of drama, go through everything together. They’re just so solid.

11. Cliff and Clair – The Cosby Show

Similarly, Cliff and Clair Huxtable are an amazing portrayal of a marriage. They laugh together, support each other, love each other and raise their brood of children together. It’s not complicated. It’s just love and family. So cute.

12. Monica and Chandler – Friends

Monica and Chandler are another couple who became the foundation of their series. While Ross and Rachel dallied in will-they-won’t-they shenanigans, Monica and Chandler slowly found each other and made it work. They ended up being perfect together despite all their differences, and the unlikeliness of them becoming a couple. Just goes to show, you never know where love’s coming from.

13. Marshall and Lily – How I Met Your Mother

These two prove that love is being part of team. Marshall and Lily have been together forever and they truly, truly care about the other one as an extension of themselves. Even when they tried to be apart, they couldn’t do it. They’re fun, funny and still hang out with their friends. You hear that, couples? It IS possible!

14. Willow and Tara – Buffy The Vampire Slayer

Another Alyson Hannigan joint, but Willow and Tara are also an amazing couple (despite how everything turns out in the end). Against all odds, they fall in love and witchcraft together and really help each other grow and come out of their respective shells. Ah! They’re so cute and tender. I love them.

15. Jane and Brad – Happy Endings

Brad and Jane seem like the most fun married couple ever. They’re silly, open about their great sex life and make marriage look like kind of the coolest thing ever. They’re best friends first, a couple second. (But don’t forget about that fantastic sex. Because they sure don’t.)
