The New Minnesota Timberwolves PSA Is A Masterpiece

As the resident director, managing editor, and grand poobah of sports coverage here at Thought Catalog (all self-appointed titles), I wanted to share a new video written and directed by Kevin Love, NBA All-Star and starting power forward for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
It stars members of the Minnesota Timberwolves team, and the video is meant to raise awareness for a coat drive that Kevin Love is organizing with the Salvation Army. Here is the video:
A couple thoughts…
Call the Academy. We have a whole new entry in the Best Live Action Short Film category, and whatever prissy nine-minute-long rumination on despair that was favored to win this year should just pack everything up and go home.
The attention to detail is magnificent. Notice the ever-so-noticeable sparkle in the tooth at 0:43. Notice the subtle eagle cry that sounds out at J.J. Barea blows a kiss to the enraptured audience. It’s these small details that separate this from other saxophone/moonface viral videos.
The special effects. Man, that guy with the beard looks cool, but there is definitely no saxophone in his hand. OH MY GOD AND NOW THERE’S A SAXOPHONE IN HIS HAND.
I’d write more, but I need to save some ideas for the novelization of this video, which I will begin as soon as I stop running around my apartment laughing. Publishers, you know where to find me.
You should follow Thought Catalog on Twitter here.
