i think this marriage makes me feel severely depressed for two reasons–one, my own personal history with marriage and two, some kind of theory that only exists in my head.
i call it the ben&zooey theory. the majority of tao's art has been, to some extent, based on themes such as heartbreak, loneliness, depression, etc. because of tao's 'focus' on and mastery of these themes, it seems that being involved in a happy marriage would skew his work in another direction entirely due to totally different experience of life.
basically, i'm a 'big fan' of your work because i connect with it. to some extent, it makes me feel less fucked. i guess the depression stems from the idea that future works will be completely different in some way. so really, it's a selfish kind of depression in one way (i want 'awesome shit' to read) and a perhaps less selfish kind of depression in another (your writing makes me feel 'less fucked,' to some extent, and if you find happiness in a realm where i could not–marriage–then perhaps i am more fucked and alone than i realized in the first place).
