During a USA-Argentina international friendly at New Jersey’s New Meadowlands Stadium this weekend, a moment of silence was held to honor the victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. But, as is wont to happen when you have thousands of drunk people in the same place, some fans refused to keep quiet. One particularly infuriating moron can be heard yelling “USA” and “Konichiwa, bitches” during the moment of silence. I hope someone kicked him in the shins after that. TC mark

    Every other game that week and the week before in the English Premier Leauge, La Liga, other domestic leagues, International friendlies, as well as Euro 2012 Qualifiers actually had fans who had enough respect to observe a moment of silence for the victims of the tsunami. During those games it was so quiet you could hear a pen drop. But as I was getting ready to watch the Arg-USA friendly I immiedately noticed how the fans did not shut the hell up. Maybe because they don't keep up with soccer, they didn't know that this was going on all across Europe as I'm sure in other continents. But still after a few seconds, there was no silence. I was appalled at how awful the USA fans are, seriously WTF? Every other country respected it, but of course the United States have to be a bunch of assholes. And you could tell the players who play in Europe were stunned as well, as they had already gone through several moments of silence with their respective domestic clubs. Just another reason I can't wait to move to Europe.
