Indonesian Anti-Porn Spokesperson Resigns from Parliament After Being Caught Watching Porn
This past Monday, an Indonesian Parliament Member and member of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) known only as “Arifinto” resigned from his post after being caught watching porn with his tablet PC during a parliamentary meeting.
Arifinto is one of Indonesia’s most outspoken proponents of anti-pornography laws. The country’s population of Muslims – the largest in the world – is more moderate than conservative, but a fringe class of reactionaries led in part by Arifinto have passed some rather extreme laws that can put porn-goers and even public kissers into prison for up to fifteen years.
Notable breakers of the law include include Nazril “Ariel” Irham, lead singer for Indonesia’s most popular band, Peterpan (some sex tapes he made were discovered on the Internet and he was sentenced to 40 months in jail) and the editor-in-chief of Playboy Indonesia, who was sentenced to two years in the slammer.
According to The Jakarta Post, Arifinto was given a laundry list of things to do to help atone for his act: recite the entire Koran within the 30 days, give alms to 60 poor people, seek religious advice, read the “istigfar” (a prayer asking for mercy) at least 100 times within 40 days, and, basically, ask for forgiveness from everyone in Indonesia.

The Beauty Bias: How Our Views On Female Bodies Shape Us
This is hardly the first time that formerly thin celebrities have been shamed for putting on pregnancy weight, and holding women like Jessica Simpson to a higher standard of beauty says a lot about what we expect of women.
