Double WTF: Homeless Psycho Decapitates Shopper And Runs Through The Streets With The Head

In one of the most shocking WTF incidents in recent history, a 62-year-old expatriate British woman was brutally stabbed and decapitated this morning at a shopping center in the town of Los Cristianos, located on the Spanish holiday island of Tenerife.

The perpetrator, a 28-year-old homeless man with a criminal and psychiatric record, is believed to be of Hungarian descent. According to reports, he had no apparent motive, but he had been following the woman the fast few days.

After the attack, the man ran out of the mall, carrying the head in his arms. A number of civilians and a security guard chased after him, but it was a young Spanish motorcyclist known only as David who stopped him by chucking his helmet at the man.

The impact of the helmet caused the perpetrator to stumble and the motorist tackled him to the ground. The head, according to reports, fumbled out of his hands and landed on the sidewalk.

According to witnesses, the man probably got the knife from a souvenir store in the shopping center.

Colin Kirby, a British journalist who witnessed the scene, said, quoting people he spoke to, “A middle-aged English couple in the shop said it came out of the blue and there was no real disturbance; there are security guards in the centre that would have been on the scene quickly.”

The event was so shocking that some didn’t believe at first. Kirby thought it was a joke.

“He was holding the head by the hair and I couldn’t help but think of the image in the Clash of the Titans where a man is beheaded,” he said.

The comparison to popular cinema seems appropriate; that was also my reaction upon seeing the story, when I thought, shit, the stuff of Japanese and Korean horror cinema actually happens in real life.
